Fit Like a Designer Glove - Part 4
I recently uncovered my old Mitchell 300 reel that was given to me from grandfather when I was a child. I forgot I kept it. I removed the plate and discovered several gears had missing teeth. I performed a google search and discovered Mike's Reel Repair. I debated to buy a new Mitchell 300 (probably new ones are not made as well, like anything else that someone buys new today), but this reel has sentimental value to me. Therefore I decided to repair it. I was skeptical I would get it to work again. I was also wondering if I was going to receive plastic gears as substitute replacements. I was surprised and excited, as all the gears appeared to be OEM and were made of metal. Conclusion: The gear fit perfectly and once greased, it spun like the first day I bought it. I would most definitely due business with them again. I actually have an old Mitchell 320 reel that I bought when I was child that does not work. If they supply me the parts, I may make this a winter project. George from New York State
