Generally you will need a specific ice fishing transducer for your Humminbird fish finder to get the best results while ice fishing. Here's why:

- Angle and Frequency: Ice fishing transducers typically have a narrower cone angle and operate at different frequencies than open-water transducers. This helps with precise target separation and depth readings in the confined space of a hole in the ice.
However, there are a few things to consider:
- Your Humminbird Model: Some Humminbird units may be compatible with using your regular transducer in "Ice Fishing Mode," but this is not always the case, and performance may be limited.
