Product Description
Elevate your fishing and gain a crucial underwater advantage with the Humminbird XNT 14 HW T transom mount transducer. As the key that unlocks Humminbird's renowned Dual Spectrum CHIRP sonar, this transducer is engineered for anglers who demand crisp, clear returns, exceptional target separation, and maximum coverage. It is a compact and durable powerhouse, designed to deliver the foundational 2D sonar images that are critical for identifying fish and understanding bottom composition.
Key Features at a Glance:
- Dual Spectrum CHIRP Sonar: Delivers best-in-class 2D sonar performance by sweeping through a wide range of frequencies, resulting in superior detail and clarity.
- High-Wide (HW) Beam: The "HW" designation signifies a High-Frequency beam with a Wide cone angle, providing an optimal blend of sharp detail and broad coverage.
- Excellent Target Separation: Clearly distinguish individual fish, even when they are tightly schooled or holding close to structure.
- Built-in Temperature Sensor: Provides an accurate, real-time reading of the surface water temperature, a critical factor in locating fish.
- Durable Transom Mount Design: Built with a rugged composite body and includes a reliable transom mounting bracket designed for secure installation and longevity.
- Complete Package: Includes the transducer, a 20-foot cable, and all necessary stainless steel mounting hardware for a straightforward setup.
The Technology Explained: Dual Spectrum CHIRP
The XNT 14 HW T is built around Humminbird’s advanced Dual Spectrum CHIRP 2D sonar technology. Traditional 2D sonar uses a single frequency, which can limit detail. In contrast, CHIRP (Compressed High Intensity Radar Pulse) transmits a continuous sweep of frequencies. This transducer sweeps through a range of 150-220 kHz, which provides several key benefits:
- More Information: By gathering data from a range of frequencies on every pulse, the fish finder’s processor can assemble a much more detailed and accurate image.
- Defined Fish Arches: The result is long, crisp, and easy-to-interpret fish arches, helping you distinguish between bait balls and larger predator fish.
- Superior Target Separation: You will be able to see individual fish when they are close together or suspended just off the bottom, details often missed by traditional sonar.
The XNT 14 HW T gives the angler two ways to utilize the CHIRP sonar beam:
- Wide Mode (140-200 kHz): This default mode uses a broad cone angle to maximize the search area, allowing you to scan more water and find fish faster.
- Narrow Mode (180-240 kHz): This mode focuses the sonar energy into a tighter beam, which provides the highest level of detail for dissecting structure and pinpointing fish you have already located.
Primary Compatible Models
The Humminbird XNT 14 HW T is the factory-supplied, standard transducer included with many non-imaging (sonar/GPS only) HELIX models. It is specifically engineered to provide these units with their core 2D sonar capabilities. It is the perfect replacement transducer for these models to restore original performance.
This transducer is designed for and included with:
- HELIX 5 CHIRP GPS G3
- HELIX 7 CHIRP GPS G3, G3N, G4, G4N
- HELIX 8 CHIRP GPS G3N, G4N
- HELIX 9 CHIRP GPS G3N, G4N
- HELIX 10 CHIRP GPS G3N, G4N
- HELIX 12 CHIRP GPS G3N, G4N
Important Compatibility Note: This is a 2D sonar only transducer. It does not support Down Imaging, Side Imaging, or MEGA Imaging technologies. It is intended for use with the "CHIRP GPS" models listed above. It can also be used with imaging-capable (DI or SI) units if you only require 2D sonar, but it will not enable those imaging functions.
